chap weather very warm, steep, narrow ledges, steep descents, tough course, enjoyed it, garmin says 14.62 kms so is the shortist of the lakeland trail races, very well organised, well marshalled, hope to do it again next year, recomend to all Long Eaton Running Club 1:19:00 1:19:00 1:25:00 1:19:00 56.74

DANBERT Well that’s the Lakeland Trail series completed and this race although it doesn’t feel like it at the moment was probably my best run of the series. I was a lot quicker than Hawkshead (provisional results on the website suggesting 10 minutes quicker)

I’ve got to say, that just like all the other races in the series this race took in some of the most scenic and beautiful countryside in the UK, it’s just that each race has involved just a little bit too much un-runnable climbing for my liking.

That said i’ve enjoyed the series immensely though and would highly recommend it. Rochdale Harriers & AC 1:26:59 1:26:59 1:26:59 49.44

Dogtanian Fantastic race. Went out at a hard pace and managed to hold on. Baf knee pain at 8.5k and thought I'd have to pack in but it settled down by 11k. Delamere Spartans 1:18:11 1:19:18 1:25:00 1:19:18 51.23

flanker legs heavy after doing Berlin marathon 6 days before but still somehow managed to PB. Had to take descents far easier than normal- there was no strength in my quads to control things. Great race yet again. Todmorden Harriers & AC, Trail Running Association, Fell Runners Association, LDWA 1:11:09 1:34:04 1:34:04 43.83

julbags Absolutely no idea how long it will take me but going to enter the Challenge rather than the Race to enjoy the day.
Update 6/10 - was still struggling from the horrible colds I've had for the past two weeks, thefirst mile was just horrible and it was flat! The climb was hard and I ran a lot more than some but should have been able to run more, struggled to recover which I blame on the cold. Loved the descent and made up a lot of time there, to be fair I don't think I would have made it round much faster if I hadn't had a cold for the last two weeks and I will enter the race next time. kstuart Never done this, or any of the other trail races, before so its hard to say what my time will be. This time will do for now and i can change it later if need be. Went off far to fast and suffered there on in. Two speedy 5.5k runs during the week didn't help either. Oh well twas a fun day out with other fetchies which is all that matters. Mrs Dogtanian Brilliant race. I was very hot and used up nearly all my water over my head but had enough to get to the water station. Got a stitch as soon as the worst of the upping was over so had to walk but once I had shaken it off the downhill was excellent. It was harder than I imagined and I really slowed up in the last 2 miles though which made me keen to do more long runs. Great day and lovely varied course. Stepford Wife Remind me next time not to cycle to Harrogate 2 days beforehand. Lovely weather and lovely course but legs so not loving going fast. Stared round and enjoyed the scenery instead. Vickyy Fantastic route, scenary and weather - did have a mishap - other competitor pushed me over trying to get passed me on a narrow part of the route and I fell and twisted my ankle so lost about 5 minutes of time. Long Eaton Running Club 1:27:00 1:27:00 1:27:00 52.85

Zeb With a bit more training, hope to go quite a bit faster than Hawkshead. Update 24/9 - car is a bit poorly so may not be able to do this. Watch this space. Another update 1/10 - car still poorly, but managed to sort some accommodation out!

yeah hah! Didn't think I'd really gone very fast at all, so must have gone really, really slowly at Hawkshead. Well done to those who bet, and doh to those that didn't... Lincoln & District Runners 1:44:33 1:54:31 2:00:00 1:54:31 40.04
