Dunfermline Half Marathon

Baza Think I started too quick and paid the price along Woodmill Rd on the 2nd lap. Bit of a breeze along Duloch direction but apart from that, a semi decent run!! Carnegie Harriers 1:23:13 1:26:03 1:27:00 1:32:38 62.59

Dave_K What a good run. Really good day, so well organised and a PB as well. Tough run, seemed to be more up than down but really good. Feeling it in my calfs today. Unaffiliated 1:41:20 1:46:53 1:50:44 54.41
Debstir Bit disappointed with my time (watch time). Had hoped to get sub 2 hours but I think I was maybe asking a bit too much of my body. I've raced 4 times since London (today was 5th) so it's maybe had enough. Now have a dry, sore throat so might have had the cold starting as well, never good for a race! Last ran this (I think) 3 years ago and the course had slightly changed (for the better) - still goes uphill more than down though! Strong breeze was a bit of a challenge on the 2nd loop - don't know if that's because it had got stronger or whether I had got weaker! Even though the course isn't the most scenic, it's still a well organised race with really friendly marshalls! Unaffiliated 1:54:25 1:55:50 2:00:11 54.00
Enigma Very pleased with a new PB today. The course was good, though there were quite a few wee inclines which seemed to really affect my breathing. Had to back off a few times to get the breathing back under control before pushing on again. Weather was varied but generally good for running. Cool, occasional drizzle and not too much wind, though it did pick up on the second lap. Good organisation. Well done to all the other Carnegie Harriers (mens and Womns team champions). Good support around the course from the marshalls and club mates, thanks. I am currently very sleepy. Unaffiliated 1:33:06 1:33:06 1:34:00 1:33:46 62.01

May Dunfermline Half Marathon, incorporating Scottish Half Marathon Championship, rather tough run again, found this mentally and physically very challenging, had to really hold this together big time as did not want to let the team down,2 lap course, slight head wind on second loop, weather was perfect, slight drizzle, well organised event, nice to see support on route.. we managed to retain Scottish ladies team title: )well done Plussing as which,Fabienne,Carnegie men also taking Scottish team title.great efforts from..Tommy/Magoo/scott..great team eh?: ) Scottish Prison Service AAC 1:20:51 1:20:51 1:31:35 70.87
Plussing As Which Unfortunately failed to get PB but not far off on this tough course - seemed to be an awful lot of uphill! Still not quite on top form - hope there is more to come. Fantastic result for Carnegie winning both the men and women's team titles in Scot Champs. Well done to all runners. Very well organised event and thanks to all marshalls and helpers. Son of a Pronator Man I can't believe it was 18 years ago that I first ran this race. It was a different course then. I hope to be faster than I was back then, and faster than Alloa where the weather was $hit. No bets please :). Disappointed to be soo close but outside my PB - i think the lack of runners on the second lap ( it was windier then too) didn't help as there was no-one to match the pace with. Excuses, excuses, yes I know. Grovelling apologies to everyone who blew their credits on me. Edinburgh Athletic Club 1:25:25 1:33:15 1:32:00 1:33:32 66.57

Supervixen Managed to go sub 2hrs on this (or was it just me) tough hilly course, where you always seemed to be going up hill. Well organised event and friendly marshalls, still got the sore feet though *ouch*. Unaffiliated 1:56:24 1:56:24 2:00:00 1:59:26 55.17
Tasis Lass A tough hilly race glad I did it but knackered now!!! Fife AC 1:53:05 1:53:05 1:54:11 1:53:05 58.27
Yano Ambitious prediction but I hope to knock at least a few minutes of the PB .... Post-race feeling delighted with my time. 7 and a half minutes of previous PB and first time under 1 hour 30mins. Good conditions overall although it was quite windy at times. Hilly course and 2 lap course is mentally demanding knowing that you have to do those hills again with less energy. Set out to run 7min miles but wasn't sure how I would feel - not really done a lot of distance training for this, except running a few 10ks. Went off too fast (as always), 10k in sub 42, felt tired through 7/8/9 but made it to 10 miles in 69. By 11 I knew it would be close so dug deep to push harder again to the finish. Coming round the final bend I could see 1 hour 29 on the clock and just sprinted - great feeling crossing the line. 74th out of 477. Unaffiliated 1:29:45 1:29:45 1:29:59 1:29:45 64.78
