Greenman The hot conditions made a fast time impossible for me, aimed for 6:30 pace on the first lap and felt really comfortable on the second. Overtook a few guys who had come past me on the first lap which felt good. Water and hose pipes from the spectators was really welcome, as was the shade. Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) An extremely hard run for everyone, the heat was so intense. Well done to everyone who took part in this race and to all who supported this race, the heat was impossible to cope with, I have great respect to everyone who participated including those who made the wise decision to pull out, better to make that decision rather than be ambulanced of the course, I saw at least 3 people being rescued. A big thankyou to the locals who stood outside their houses with water and hoses, such kindness is appreciated. This was a very well orgainised race but I do have a couple of complaints, for a lot of runners this was there first half marathon and although the t-shirts are nice, most people I spoke to would have preferred a medal, also that awful hill coming up to the half way/finish was a killer, I know that no-one can control the weather but the intense heat going past the cow sheds was more of a killer that the hill!!
Thanks to everyone involved, not sure that I would ever do this one again though, if anything it would be entry on the day for me.
