Vicki: Graceless Whippet Had a bit of a quack quack oops with this one - got to the event at 10:15 then realised i'd left my chip at home - went back and got it, and arrived 1 minute before the start. I did try to make it closer to the front to try and make out a clear path, but i ended up jogging the first six or seven hundred metres trying to avoid walkers. Made up some time by the 5k mark, then a good hard run back to the finish. Very well marshalled, and lots of support, the weather was naff for anything other than distance running - lots of drizzle, but it was nice to run along the beach and pier even if the hill back up is a bit of a killer ;) Was really nice to have lots of the people around the course shouting 'come on Jarrow' There were'nt a lot of runners in club vests, and the yellow is pretty easy to spot :) All in all I enjoyed the race - 47:35 on my watch, naff time, but it was my own daft fault for not being prepared, will see what the chip time and official time is later.
