daz1927 Feckin' Disaster. Went off way to fast, 1st mile 6:11. was doing great at about 8 mile point, in about 52 mins. What happened next. Woke up in hospital, collaped at about 8.5 miles, on the big hill lol. Severe dehydration, and body shut down. Kept in hospital overnight, and was then my birthday on the Monday - GUTTED> Village Vipers 1:05:15 1:11:00
Dochart This race starts from the athletic track on the northern outskirts of Brecon. Free parking, changing, toilets and showers are all on hand. It's a lovely setting surrounded by sports fields and open countyside and the flat-topped summits of the breccie beacs above. The race is out and back and circles the athletic track before heading out onto quiet lanes in the surrounding countyside. The weather was warm and humid but thankfully not too sunny. The undulating route was well marshalled with three water stations. This was the first time I'd run on a track since school and despite the promises made to myself I still ran the first mile faster than intended before settling into a sensible pace before picking it up again in the last mile or so. After the debacle at Devizes a month ago I was very happy with my race and time. 206/355 Stragglers 1:23:14 1:23:14 1:35:00 1:23:14 56.10
Hanneke That was a bit disastrous... Last year I ran a slow time (1.34 ish) because I had to lend first aid, this year my back gave up just after mile 6. Humidity was high, which can trigger off an attack and it did. Boohoo! Still finished, got a very nice t-shirt and some paracetamol from the ambulance people to get me home. Excellent race though, nice but hilly course and great organisation. Will be doing it again next year, hoping for 3 x lucky! FELL PONIES, Black Mountains MBO 1:23:44 1:23:44 1:26:00 1:32:13 55.37
Midpack Struggled with my fitness levels after recent injury problems. A long way from my best, but still surprised at how unfit I've become after a few weeks inactivity. It is a good race and a very attractive course, glad I completed it. San Domenico RC 1:09:11 1:17:28 1:17:28 57.62
