Mal Hurrah, a PB! It is only my second attempt at the distance though. Good race all in all, started much nearer the front so didn't lose early time, and got away quickly. Possibly too quickly, I started to feel pretty grim after a few minutes, and didn't really settle down until about 10 minutes in. I was also dropping like a stone after my pacy start. However, I got into a good rhythm, and started to gradually reel people in. Lost about 10 seconds on my 2nd lap when I had to stop to tie my laces - amateur mistake! Very frustrating as 3 people I'd just run down went whizzing past. Got back past them though. A superhuman effort saw me reel in two women on the last lap, although some random guy cheekily pipped me in the sprint, having come from nowhere. Bring on the October/November races!
