Rach E Aim was to take this relatively steady as I'm not in 20 mile state. Ran well for 12.5 miles averaging 6:38s. Then felt like I'd been stabbed in the stomach and had a very painful (and highly embarrassing) 7.5 miles to the end. Never felt so ill running and am very grateful to KatieB for being so fantastic at the end and helping to restore my dignity. Still managed to finish 1st female on the stage and break the course record. Love this event so much and can't wait for next year. stu8 1st time RNR'er and was most nervous as historically i'd blown up during the last few miles of anything over 15 :-( but i'm glad to say it all went rather well passed 15 teams :-) so had a nice line of flashing lights to draw me on which was a fantastic mental boost (very much added to by the well dones i got from every car/runner/support excellent feeling during the race!!!) if anything might have been too conservative with my pace but in the dark with no mile markers it was kinda tricky :-) great event so roll on next year!!! Thetford AC 2:13:26 2:13:26 2:13:26 68.34
tom_craggs Leg 12 for me. Longest leg, pleased with that. Hoping my calf will have recovered enough to put in a decent time.**Ran as MP long run. Went fine 6.34/mile - slowish MP.. Tried to push harder for the last 5 miles but legs didn't really respond. Comfortable long run...nothign more. Watch time was 02:08:57 but lost 30s due to a mess up on the baton handover. Enjoyed the whole weekend very much. Mornington Chasers, Winchester & District AC 2:09:30 2:09:30 2:12:00 2:09:30 69.15
