GReat course , but windy miles 6.5 - 9 . Enjoyed++ despite slowing at the end.
Good race. The marshals gave more encouragement in the second half. They barely spoke in the first half.
Feeling fitter now, so going to attempt a pb, if conditions are favourable I would like sub 1:35 but will settle for sub 1:37
***Update*** Official. just outside PB. Windy day and not helped with the beginnings of a cold.
Second time doing this got 1:18 something last year and trained a lot more this year and feeling fitter than I have for a while, hope to enjoy and WILL get a PB at the same time.
That was hard, couldn't handle the wind in the second half and did some very slow miles. Still won first V50.
Guaranteed PB as it's my first 10 miler. Will I be able to get close to 90 mins??? --- And I didn't. The wind was a real killer. But I gave it all I could, and am not too disappointed with the result.
Got my pb but didn't manage 1.30 that I wanted. Very windy, the last 3 miles were a battle!
Anything sub 1:11:30 will do me
OK, not with that wind I wasn't going to PB. Good hard race though.
P1 race, ideally like to run less than 58.15
Bloody hard work, wind assisted first half quite fast, and probably working a bit too hard to try and stay with faster runners, then hit the wind and died badly.
Got first M45 and 8th overall (I think).
Not too bad, be nice to have a weekend without a race now!
Will add prediction nearer time. This could have been special but 62mins is more likely. Update wind and lack of fitness meant slow time
Yay, broke 120 barrier, am pleased. Just managed to retain the same pace through the wind tho it was tough. Started near the back and it was kinda fun picking people off one by one! Have realised am better at running on my own i think!
very windy day - couldn't push against it, legs felt too heavy. Something must be wrong!! Been to Drs for blood tests. REsults awaited.
If I 12 minute mile this 10 mile race I will be well happy. However, I would like to finish it in less than 2 hours, but as it's the first 10 mile race I will have run I am not sure how I will feel after 8 miles!!!
Just missed out on a PB, the headwind blowing over the fen between 6-9 miles slowed me right down. Nicely organised race, thanks Fenland runners
Got to be a PB - actually my first 10 mile race!!!!!
Was on for more like 1:12 until I got to mile 7 and the wind had other ideas about my pace! Still, a small PB I *think*, and perfectly respectable pace for a tempo run a week after a fast marathon
That was windy!
Sorry to those that bet on me. I can't believe that time.
Very enjoyable and well-organised race!
