bj First race ever done in the rain. All considering a really good day. Would have been brilliant if dry but in some ways the rain helped you want to get round quicker!

Mud section not good and made it pretty difficult to run quicker than 9 minute mile for the section

Well organinsed. Just don't invite the stupid shouty woman next time! Larkfield AC 1:40:49 1:43:54 1:50:00 1:50:56 52.26

GD Well organised race - agree with comments about the grass, though I guess without the rain it wouldn't have been quite so bad. Got absolutely soaked - and about 3 mins slower than expected. Think I'll blame the conditions! Still, first race of the year, so not to worried - it will be easier to beat now! FERC 1:27:25 1:40:00 1:38:00 1:41:39 57.05

gray Disappointing in the end - tried for 9min miles and was OK until hill into the wind up to Rottingdean and slippery mud on way back down spoiled it a bit. Good day, though and PB, too. Cranleigh Tortoise & Hare Runners 1:50:59 1:57:16 2:00:00 2:02:37 51.20

Hanneke Wow! What a dreadful race! Horrid weather and my calf previously weakened by injury started playing up at mile 5. Kept going at a slower pace and still managed to take 4 minutes off my PB! I actually like the grass bit! It was mainly downhill, fast and bouncy under foot, which released my by then very sore right quad. Probably sore from compensating for the calf, which felt fine again by mile 9! Petty about the lack of showers. By the time we got to the pub I apparently looked worryingly blue from the cold! lozza Such a hard race! Headwind, hills, mud. Hated it at the time but very happy with my new PB. A good race in theory, and will definitely be back. Collingwood AC 1:55:12 1:55:12 1:55:12 58.59
