ClaireT Not run this kind of distance since January so wasn't expecting to break any records. Focussed on keeping a steady pace and some energies in reserve for the latter stages and it paid off. Pleased to get round the course in a semi-decent time and to finish 2nd lady was a bonus. Really hot and sunny today which suits me fine. Nice swim afterwards and good crack with fellow Fetchies and friends. Victoria Park - City of Glasgow AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 1:23:34 1:28:53 1:28:53 72.85
connelld As I wasn't 100% motivated, I decided to run with Garmin on but not to look at it during race. Ran with Bodo for first 6-7 miles as he seemed to handling the bits well that I was struggling with. However he seemed to get more powerful and I struggled to keep with him. I passed Mark Grierson on a bit he was struggling on and kept Bodo and Robert Rogerson in sight but never really closed the gap until the end on Robert as he was suffering from injury. I tried 1 last ditch attempt to be him at the end but there was a good 4 seconds between us. Up in front was Sunbed Athlete with a 3 minute gap between him and Stuart Gibson. Stuart also had 3 minute gap between him and 3rd place Grant Wilkie. Hot conditions but a good day. Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 1:17:24 1:21:27 1:22:14 71.13
Girvan Ruth Found this really hard going. Legs just struggled to get up the hills and the down hills never seemed very long. On the positive side though I met a few Fetchies and the boys from Troon Tortoises. Girvan AAC 1:49:45 1:57:46 2:04:30 53.20

Sunbed Athlete Won it by over 2 & 1/2 mins on a hilly course.Led from start to finish but knew guys were just behind me but @ 6 mile strecthed that lead on the start of the major climbs of the route.Worked hard & had opened up a 2 min lead by mile 8.Never in danger after that.Got trophy to keep & 1 to engrave & send back next year.Great wee race attracts folk form all over the UK.
Also got Gold Medal for this years Ayrshire Half Marathon Champioships.Last won it in 2006.
Pleased with splits apart froma couple where I could have maybe pushed on but overall very happy.A swin & sauna afterwards helped the legs. Cambuslang Harriers, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 1:08:56 1:09:42 1:13:28 80.36
