Baza This could be a bit of an ambitious prediction but winter trainings been going well and I've got some 'track time' ahead of this to look forward too. *Update* Never controlled the pace or this could have been quicker, time is what I'm running in training and we're only doing 90% efforts. Good crack though really enjoyed the morning just sorry I couldn't make lunch - next time, promise Carnegie Harriers 5:04 5:23 5:25 5:23 70.85
bedlam_g Happy weekend - Stuck like a Limpit to Magoo for 3 laps then freewheeled to a 10 second PB. Great event as always. Hibs completed the package :) Bellahouston Road Runners, Cumbernauld AAC, Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 5:14 5:16 5:14 5:16 73.98
Big Al Widepants Well it's 19 months since I ran a pb. But at least this was a wee bit of a confidence boost considering the last 2 months have been spent either ill in my bed or moping around doing no training. Didn't feel the same despair as I had last year when I'd done 2 laps but that came on with a vengeance at the bell and it was a lactic lake for the last 400. Panned it up the straight in spite of the pain as I heard someone closing and you don't want to get pipped on the line. Splits were 1.33, 1.46, 1.48, 1.40. So even though I sprinted the last 80 metres, I didn't fall apart on the last lap as I thought I might. It's a crap time as it's 22 secs slower than last year but I only came off my antibiotics yesterday and I've done about 20 miles in the last 8 weeks so I'm hardly fit. dd Almost didnt run this due to the icy condtions and a pure white track. But the ice thawed and I decided to give it a go and am very glad I did. I didnt really think I could PB today so very happy! Lovely day meeting lots of new fetchies and great time in pub, restaurant & pub! Unaffiliated 8:33 8:33 8:30 8:33 50.17

Dvorak Another fine Fetch mile, and I've even got the shirt this time. In the middle race this time, sat at the back as most went a bit ahead, slowed a little on laps two and three then opened up with about 300m to go: last 200m in 38s (!). Still couldn't catch Big Al, he heard my ragged panting and kicked on. Then an enjoyable rehydration and meal. Good to see all the Fetchies and looking forward to the next one. Gogsy! A 3 second PB despite my rubbish tactics. Suffered after the first lap trying to keep with Dvorak, & had to latch onto Siouxsie to drag me round the next 3 laps. Lunch was nice with the squad, though. JogScotland Rosemount 6:59 7:14 7:40 7:14 59.82
Gus That was harder than I thought it would be. OM's brownies were fab:) Jogscotland On The Run Cumbernauld 9:18 9:18 9:29 9:18 52.45
Haggis Never done anything like this before, so who knows... Forfar Road Runners 6:59 6:59 8:00 6:59 61.00
HappyG(rrr) Prediction is based on the idea that in 3 months since the last one I *may* just have been able to shave 0:02 off a mile. But don't bet on me! I'm a bit slack!! :-) 5:30. Well that was good - back of the sub 6 group but brilliant fun anyway. And more importantly a great day, meeting so many lovely fetchies old n new. Big thanks to IanS and LorraineS for all the top organisation stuff! Roll on next fetch mile! :-)G Harmeny AC, Kinross Road Runners 5:19 5:30 5:55 5:30 71.86
IanS Very poor warmup so I started near the back of the group and sat behind toepointer and MartyK for the first couple of laps. Saw toepointer opening up a bit of a gap on lap 3 so managed to catch her up and then go past at the start of the final lap, then it was head down just trying to stay ahead to the end. Great day out and lots of lovely fetchies as usual :-) Harmeny AC 5:56 6:10 6:15 6:16 66.42
JulesR Well that was a very pleasant surprise to be faster than the Summer. Started at the back trying to pace for just under 6 mins, then realised if I didn't pick up, I;d be last. Sat behind Grrr for a while and moved onto SoaPm for a bit before trying to attack Slowboy off the final bend - he heard my gasping and disappeared off into the distance. Smashing event and fab pub & tea after. Shame about absent organising Llamas - get well soon! Stirling Triathlon Club 5:17 5:25 5:25 77.43

MartyK Fetch Mile!!! Went off way too quick at the start and did pay for it in the middle segment, but found abit more in the tank for the final lap. Was challenged to beat 6:37 which BigGee10 had set at the London Fetch Mile afew weeks ago, and did. Yay!!! Daresay he won't let this lie though.
it was great to meet so many fetchies for the first time, especially Tripletdad and OldMum who made some lovely chocolate brownies.

radioworx ok I been off the running wagin for a long time in september then just got back on.

Biggest worry is that I am fatter than my last 1 mile run where I hit 7.32.

Be happy to match it to be honest, although I have been training at shorter distance lately, so who Knows? Unaffiliated 7:43 7:43 7:30 7:43 53.54
santababy really, you'd be awfully silly not to bet on me :) Harmeny AC 7:09 7:17 8:00 7:17 59.17
Siouxsie Much better than expected, considering I haven't really ran for 2 months. Brill day :-) Scottish Fetchies ROCK! Dumfries RC 6:45 7:15 8:00 7:15 58.54
Son of a Pronator Man Will be in special (short sharp and lactic inducing) training over the next few weeks to target this one. +Update+ I was delighted to PR by 16 seconds on last years performance. The sub 6's were fewer in number but the competition was every bit as hot on this frosty morning. I felt I paced a whole lot better and avoided the lactic bath that the 3rd and 4th laps were last December. With about 200m to go i heard the breathing of Happy G behind me, kicked on and left him, he came back with 100 to go and I just couldn't hold him off in the final few meters. He pushed me to a giant PB so it's all good. Great fun, a pity I had to bail out of lunch, I had an appointment with a mop and bucket :( Edinburgh Athletic Club 5:30 5:30 5:30 5:30 75.68
toepointer Led for the first three laps and then Ian overtook wth a change of pace which I failed to follow. Bit annoyed with myself as just gave up and didn't try to go with him, have lost a bit of confidence in my running since being injured. PB is 5.48 on a road 1m so should be able to go a bit faster. Legs were a bit dead from yesterday but not all that bad. Next time maybe. Surprisingly good conditions for a track race and thanks to all those who helped organise and give lifts etc..! It was lovely to meet you all. Lasswade AC 6:25 6:25 6:40 6:25 66.14

z1000jeff This was fun, in a masochistic kind of a way. Can't wait till the summer mile .... I will beat this time. You can bet on it. Nice to meet a lot of new Fetchies today. Hope you all enjoyed your nosebag. Unaffiliated 6:15 6:38 6:30 6:38 62.75
