Geococcyx My first 5k and a really handy location as I could jog the 2 1/2k from my house to the start. I really enjoyed the race through the park, though the second lap hurt - a lot. Also, happy and surprised with my time. Will hopefully run next week and throughout the summer when I can get out of bed in time. Unaffiliated 19:04 20:03 20:14 65.91
green stripey lady lovely, really enjoyed it and will go again Wilmslow RC 20:16 20:16 21:03 75.87
jolguk ugggh - 20 seconds slower than last time and I found it tough all the way round. It was a bit warm for me, but more likely, I should have resisted that bit of wine on Friday night. Being sick at the end wasn't really down to that, though, it's not unusual for me to push myself just a bit too far. The race was just as great as last time, though, and yes, definitely faster. I'm looking forward to my return, when I'll be a good girl the night before. Dragons RC 20:19 20:19 21:35 68.54

UltraDunc What a beautiful morning we had to race in , sun was shining , ducks were quacking and all I had to do was trundle around and take it easy.
Errrrrr no , it didnt happen not for me anyway . Somewhere deep inside me grew this maelovolent beast , goading me into racing this race , was it Old Mum , I cannot be sure . The voices in my head grew stronger as the seconds ticked by to the whistle for the off , shit we're off , go , go ,go , hell I didnt plan this did I ? . Well before I knew it lap was done and I seriously wanted to back off , but how could I , there was a full steam ahead pack following . No , keep going Mr Ultra , you big head its only 5k , lol , then we had the last incline into the woods , then level , then undulate , then arrrrrgh down ,down , then level and nearly there . Home straight , and feeling strong ?? , but this guy behind me had been there for the last 2k , breathing down my neck . I thought , must hold him off , I'm doing it , I'm doing it , last 100 metres push harder come on , stop him , Nooooooo . To conclude , best performance and best fun ever , cant wait to race again !!!! Salford Metropolitan AC 19:53 20:14 22:20 21:00 67.94

About this parkrun

Ages since I did this one, I only owned road shoes in those days and they were fine. Undulating route through the park. I remember enjoying it! :)
twinny 28th Dec 2018

Feb 2016 - 2 laps with a few small hills, mixture of tarmac and trail.
njosmith 10th Jan 2019

2 laps, twisty turny, difficult to pass, can be very crowded, I think it is the oldest in't north, run like a well oiled machine, can be a bit crowded, very fast at the front, nice coffee van at the end. Good run, lovely park.
Ocelot Spleens 29th May 2019

Lovely park. £1 for a couple of hours parking, app payment available.
Bramble 25th Jun 2022

Two laps of an undulating Park with all sorts of different surfaces to negotiate. Can get very packed and that means not a lot of room to run in.
gcwenn 12th Nov 2022

run number 666 today so it was extremely busy, over 500 people but the team dealt with it without any trouble. Varying surfaces, little muddy in places. Plenty of parking, cafe with table service and a lovely old house to look at. Lovely place.
Mandyr 26th Nov 2022

The granddaddy of all parkruns in the NW of England. A friendly busy two lap parkrun approx 50% tarmac and 50% trail (sections can get muddy following wet weather but road shoes usually OK). No buggies or dogs permitted. There are loos at the cafe.
