ChrisW Ran this event last year in 48:02. I'd been in a running club 6weeks then and that time was a good PB. Now, a lot more training under the belt (and marathon). I finished in 43:53

I paced my garmin at 7.15mm. Then ran out at 7mm for the first 3 miles, I really didn't think I could maintain that after mile 2, but it felt good knowing I had 30secs in the bag if I dropped of a little later. 4th mile dropped off but still manage to slowly overtake a couple of runner, and mile5 similiar a little slower but not letting any one get away from me. mile6 and I know I'm on for a good time, I knew I could coast this home and get a sub 45 (just). But kept on running, keeping to the tails of the runner in front. With just 0.3 mile left I started to think of a sub 44, didn't think I could do it, but pushed on anyway. (Feeling v.sick at this point) turned the last 70metres and really picked up a good fast/pace finish.
