dd Sorry to all my bet-ers tonight. I am not a good swimmer ;) Started off quite strong and the lightening strikes made for a speedy 1st km. But soon after that my freezing cold wet legs just didnt have it in them. Perked up a bit towards 8km when we neared the finishline back the way we had headed out and I hoped my soggy wet Garmin hadnt read the distance right (didnt see any km markers at all tonight). but it was not to be and we were sent around the houses for a couple more tortourous km. Official time tbc.... hopefully I can just 'duck' under the 1.05. Well done to all the PB'ers tonight :) Unaffiliated 1:01:42 1:01:54 1:05:02 46.96

Jaffers Ok, this is it. Time to deliver. Two warm ups have been ok, but conditions and course have been against. Time to get the monkey off my back. I should have some good pace markers around so no chance of going off at 5:30 pace. Should be able to build the race and deliver in the second half. Definitely no room for excuses this time. The training's been done - this is what the last 5 months have been targetted at - no pressure then? ###UPDATE###Only gone and done it. Talked the talk, and then walked the walk. Very wet conditions, but no wind and pleasant temperature once we got going. Totally in the zone for the whole race, but was unnerved by not knowing the markers were on the ground, so didn't really know quite where I was at any one time. But a good pb at last. kyt favourite course. depends on 1st half in the crowds. POST: 1st race back from calf pull after 1.5k at helensburgh. v tentative 1st 5k as a result, then picked up a minute on the way in. i like the idea of lightning flashes as personal k markers, but it won't catch on. Scobos A bit like swimming in parts, but hung in well in middle part of the race when I had signs of a stitch coming on. Ran through it and pushed hard from about 7.5k, picking up some places all the way to the finish line. 18th place, my first negative split in a 10k for years, and a 4 second PB! That'll do nicely :o) Shettleston Harriers 33:08 33:33 34:03 78.94

Enjoyed the race.Never thot i'd get a sub 33 time but well chuffed with result.Must be fitter than i thot.Went thru halfway in 16:24 & ran the 2nd half quicker with 16:17.
The heavy rain made parts of route under water & even the thunder & lighting didnt damper my spirits.Did w/u with connelld & c/d with Ross. Cambuslang Harriers, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 31:29 32:22 32:41 82.24
Ticketyboo Felt good with front crawl for the first 4k and then started to struggle and switched to breast stroke taking time to pose for the paparazzi in the sky. Overall a decent run in monsoon conditions being passed and then passing Guiseppi early on. (Finishing position 47 out of 712) Cumbernauld AAC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 33:50 36:22 36:41 72.39

Vic Mason Two of the Polariod 10k's down & two left to do. PB @ Helensburgh (37.53) & new PB @ Clydebank (37.34) Can Fannybawz PB @ Dumbarton? You decide. It's been 5 weeks or so since my Marathon & I am starting to feel a little fresher & sharper. Dumbarton is meant to be the fastest of the four but I suppose it's all down to the actual day.***UPDATE** another Polaroid 10K another PB by Fannybawz! I had a great race last night albeit in torrential rain & thunder storms which was good to clear the air. Felt strong from the off & psychologically not seeing the K markers probably helped. Also pleased with my 1st negative split – 18.49 out, 18.40 back. School boy error @ around 7k as my lace came undone, not once but twice which in all honesty probably cost me 10 seconds or more. Thanks to all fetchies for their vote of confidence your credits are safe once again! Also good to meet a few other fetchies last night. 60th position out of 712 Kirkintilloch Olympians 35:15 37:29 37:10 37:29 74.84
