Alex B One of my regular annual races. This will be my first race since my knee got injured during the Great South Run last year.

*update* Perfect weather - no wind for a change. Pleased with time. started a little too fast and paid for it a bit over last 3-4 miles. managed a new max HR during the finish by 1 bpm! Fareham Crusaders 1:38:26 1:41:51 1:45:00 1:41:51 57.67
AntClark First Half Marathon - Hopefully put in a good time but it's a big step up from 10k - Knee injury may make it a tough race *UPDATE* great weather it all went very well last 3 miles were tough, mainly down to lack of training over the last month due to injury. (Watch Time)

Official time slower than watch and gun and chip time the same when I was stuck in the crowd walking through the start so I think this is not quite correct still happy with the time Bournemouth AC, Twemlow Track Club 1:12:31 1:41:22 1:55:00 1:41:22 57.19

MacDaz Found this really hard this year. Was never going to be a PB due to the hills and lack of HM prep but this was a real struggle. I think as I had not prepared properly I had a panic the night before and ate and drunk too much. I felt bloated at the start. Probably went off a bit quick in the vain pursuit of a PB and by mile 3 legs had gone all wobbly, I gradually got slower and had little left for any kind of surge, although my last mile was my quickest as I desperately tried to get under 1h40. Spirits slightly lifted by the official results as I was about 201st overall and 39th in class. (May only have been 40 in my class!) Slightly annoying as a somewhere near a PB might have got me in the first 100, but lesson learnt. I can't just turn up and expect to do well. Unaffiliated 1:35:34 1:39:43 1:40:00 1:39:43 58.91
Marigold Will use this race as part of my 17 mile LSR. (Must remember not to race it!)..............................................HR average spot on what I was looking to do (160bpm at 85/86 MHR) but legs did not give the impression that they do that all again so I think its a bit pacey for my FLM MP. Came 5th as well whcih was a nice suprise seeing as I wasn't racing. ( I think alot of people gave this one a miss due to how close to FLM it is) Bournemouth AC 1:06:10 1:12:45 1:20:00 1:17:38 74.77

Tia I stopped at the 10 mile point to help a guy who was looking really worse for wear. He was hyperventalating and trying to continue to run with jelly legs. I *made* him stop and a couple of other folks helped me to convince him to take deep breaths to focus on getting his brreathing back and heartrate back down. His legs were like jelly under him and his eye were rolling ,I helped him regain *normal breathing* before leaving him in the capable hands of a friend who was spectating and another guy with some sports drink.
