bedlam_g According to my Garmin my first mile split at the Houston Relay was 5.26, so i'd hope to be able to beat that on a track. Depends how fast the person i'm chasing goes.
UPDATE - Really good day nice to meet the Scottish fetchies and add sound and animation to the avatars, finished 3rd behind Jaffers and JulesR hoped I’d have been quicker but the track was long and 2nd lap was really hilly.

Big Al Widepants No matter how short a race it is, I want to give up at some stage. But it's a pb and the first since August. Unaffiliated 6:11 6:26 7:08 6:26 63.73
Dvorak Wow! Expectations majorly exceeded - my carefully planned pace schedule was oot the windae after about five seconds as OM and Siouxie hared off and I tried to follow them. The relay was good fun even though I felt like puking after the first 200 ! - great to meet some real-life Fetchies, with some great runs on the day. A couple of pics of the day now in my gallery. Unaffiliated 6:49 7:31 8:59 7:39 53.20
Enigma Only done the hilly 1 Mile loop in Pittencrief park before. So hoping to go faster on a flat track.
UPDATE - Great day on the track. Equalled my PB. Maybe could have squeezed out a few more scoonds but I'm happy. Need to do some speedwork before another attempt at this. Unaffiliated 5:36 5:36 5:30 5:36 68.71
Gogsy! Lap me if you dare! :-) Update - I was lapped :-( but that will teach me to pay attention in future & not miss the start of the slow group. Delighted with time, though & throughly enjoyed the company. JogScotland Rosemount 6:59 7:17 9:00 7:17 58.94
IanS Great fun racing with the other Fetchies - dead heat (I think) with Big Al, although he might have just dipped to take it on the line (no photo finish equipment available at Stirling though so we can't be sure :-) Harmeny AC 5:56 6:27 6:27 64.05
Jaffers 1st offical mile race so pb guaranteed. Did 5.30 in an unofficial race last year on a very hilly course, so hoping to be a bit quicker on the track.

3/12/07 - Very pleased with yesterday's outcome. Not sure exactly of the time, so erred on the side of caution (possibly 5.15). Great to meet all the Scottish Fetchies that were able to make it. Well done Llama for organising - an annual event? Unaffiliated 5:15 5:16 5:15 5:16 73.98
JulesR Well we put in one 75 second lap, but then 82, 84 and 74 so at least the 2 halves were even paced. Conditions were perfect so no excuse there. Maybe 3 weeks hols and 10 pounds extra weight didn't help. Couldn't get anywhere near Jaffers in the home straight - he's one fast Fetchie. Well done everyone for taking part! Stirling Triathlon Club 5:17 5:17 5:15 5:17 78.79
Llamadance went off far too fast and paid for it with a heavy dose of lactic acid. Slowed down and managed to hold on for a sub-6 which I'm pretty happy with. Unaffiliated 5:43 5:51 5:55 5:51 66.60
Plussing As Which Fab fun with the Fetchies! This was a great idea and turned into a good training session! Didn't manage to build much speed in the mile but at least the legs could've kept on going. Or so I thought until we started the 5k relay in 200m stages. Haven't moved that fast in many years - and now unlikely to move at all until at least Friday! Thanks to all organisers and participants. Look forward to next year! Unaffiliated 5:38 5:38 5:38 75.34
Siouxsie Fabulous race. Very happy with time and cheers and encouragement from the fetch gang at the finish line. If I can talk to Oldmum while running this I wasn't going fast enough. Next time sub 7. Dumfries RC 6:45 7:09 7:20 7:09 59.22
Son of a Pronator Man I can only compare this with the Carnegie Friday Evening miles in the park - that's a hilly mile and this will be flat so going for sub 6. *Update* - A different sunday from the usual LSR, a one mile track blast and then 5x200m sprints as part of a5k Fetch relay. Painful, but good fun and it's always great to meet other Fetchies - especially ones that bring chocolate brownies ( Thanks Old Mum !) Edinburgh Athletic Club 5:30 5:46 5:59 5:46 71.64
Wildbill Looking fo a laugh on the day and just enjoying myself Portobello RC, Scotia Race Walking Club, Bill's Jog & Walk 5:41 5:41 7:00 5:41 73.24
