BrianJ Enjoyable jog around a surprisingly scenic course. Warm sunny day, but not bad for July. Had to stop frequently to check written directions which slowed me even more. North Herts Road Runners 2:05:58 2:16:00 2:05:00 2:16:00 44.47
Helegant Walking for me as I don't yet have my new orthoses, and the peroneal tendonitis is still with me, but happy about the distance because I did 13 miles over cliff paths this week, and not even an aching bone to show for it.
Did the 11 mile version of this in 2003 in 03:35:00ish when in training for Trailwalk. See http://www.runningmeerkat.com/fairlands.htm for the write-up.
Stop press 21/7 the web-site says the event will go ahead, albeit a bit wet in places.
Post race - the sun came out, it was warm and sunny, soft underfoot, and some nice countryside to be travelling through. A few bits of joggin crept in, but nothing to make this qualify as a run. Bedford Harriers AC 3:45:00 3:45:00 4:30:00 3:45:00 30.19
Rach E Ran as a relaxed training run. First 4.4 miles to first checkpoint with Gobi and Balham Bouncer and then ran the rest of the way with two guys from St. Albans Striders and Fairlands Valley Striders. Very difficult to navigate and without the guys I picked up I would have got SO lost!!! Enjoyable run and nice not to be racing for a change. Very well organised race with free bread pudding at every station and a free BBQ at the end!! Aldershot, Farnham & District AC, Team Kennet, Newbury Velo 1:43:00 1:43:00 1:43:00 57.57
