dood Could be anywhere between 33 and 36 mins based on recent form - all depends if I'm sober and my knee doesn't hurt ;-) *UPDATE* What a cracker - we all know how wet it was at the start but the rain cleared bang on the off and the weather was just perfect for running. Stuck with Linda again who beat me by a couple of minutes last year as Bill ran off into the distance. We both took Bill after 3 miles or so and then left Linda behind. Could have been 34 but hill was just too much, but well pleased - beat Linda and a new PB! Well done Jeff as well! Silson Joggers AC 34:28 34:28 35:00 34:28 62.07
Greenman Not one of my best-yesteray's 10K followed by a few beers and a 7 O' clock start didn't help. Nor did the course which was undulating to say the least, but a welocome change from most of the 5 Milers I do which are dead flat. Grantham Running club 29:45 30:28 33:37 65.85
Jigs Update: Marathon completed successfully and no major injuries or concerns, I think I can safely say I should take a couple of minutes off this PB ! even though the course isn't flat :)

News!! :

Bit of a wet one! That yucky drizzly stuff, before the start and short downpour on the startline made sure we were all suitably soaked. Stopped raining shortly after starting, which helped. Off road sections a little slippy too.
Confession time!! I was aiming for 33 mins today not the 36 stated earlier. Hard going up the final hill, don't want to see race photos, bit of a grimacing slobber monster! No official time up yet, but Garmin states a safe 32:12 :) !!
I'd say I'm happy with that !!

Official result 32 mins 28 secs, pos 21st ! :o) Must of lost time in the funnel !! Still Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat result !! Unaffiliated 28:27 31:26 36:00 32:28 67.15
nice and slow Alchester RC (Bicester) 36:06 37:09 38:29 54.77
SparkyMark Not sure about PB here. I have run faster than 37 mins for other races, but this is not a flat course. Took it very easy last year as it was first race back from injury - 43:09. Conditions were not great for spectators, but perfect for running. Light drizzle. Set off quickly, and managed to maintain this until uneven part of track - also slippery.

Passed by Jigs in second mile, kept him in sight, but was no way able to keep up. I was only taking the odd look at my watch to ensure that pace was ok (sub 7) Though my main target was club mate about 20 secs in front of me. Although it did not make any points difference for club champs (he was Senior Mens) he was a good target. Into the last mile and that little hill was calling. The guy in front starts to pull away, then stops 2/3 way up and looks as though he is going to throw :-/ I catch up, he's walking by now. I pass him, check he is ok, then he starts running again - however he is spent and I manage to speed up at the top of the hill.

Really enjoyed it. PB by over 2:30, could not believe it when I crossed the line. Big turnout from club. Good to see LL too and congratulate the speedy furry one.

Well done bridget too - great run and thanks for the points :-) Alchester RC (Bicester) 34:17 34:17 36:40 34:17 64.08

tiger-turnbull if the weather was better and the ground dry, then this could have been a very fast time Unaffiliated 33:53 36:03 37:30 36:03 59.66
Ultra Sparkly Bridget (USB) Ought to be a pb given that my last 5 miles was multi-terrain at Wendover but who knows. *UPDATE* Wow, just a slight imrpovement! Weather not as good today, drizzle as I arrived and a short, sharp shower once I'd got rid of my jacket meant a nice soggy start. Luckily the rain held off after that. First mile wasn't feeling good but then I realised I'd run 8:54 so revised my opinion. Next 2 miles were a nice even 9:19 and 9:17 but slowed after that mainly due to being on rough/muddy track and then the final last hill (oh, stupid showlace came undone as well). Thanks to everyone who bet on me, afraid I can't promise such a good return next time :-) *UPDATE* For some reason the offical time is 4 secs faster than my watch! Buckingham & Stowe RC 45:14 45:14 53:00 46:34 54.48
