Boab Boy what a crap day in Edinburgh, very windy and pouring with rain. But had a good race. There is a wee bit of debate on my position, I reckon 8th, Mrs Boab reckons 7th and a club mate reckons 9th (will wait and update once results are in). Pleased with time considering the conditions. Was 10:32 at the turn, then wind almost stopped me in my tracks. Broke the wind for a couple of guys on mile three then tucked in behind them for the last mile finished strong considering the head wind. All in all pretty good. But the highlight of the day so far has to be getting a big new year hug from Santababy, who was last seen walking along Portabello Promanade with a magnum of Champagne.....go girl!

cake muncher Finished 10th / 4th veteran. Grim weather conditions unlike last year. Heavy rain and very strong wind. Still happy enough with my result seeing as it was a last minute decision to enter. I suppose a 10 mile run in the Lomond Hills the day before was not ideal preparation! ChrisU Moderately foul weather to see in the New Year. Cold and windy with torrential rain. Wind-assisted until halfway, then pretty tough at first on the return leg until the welcome shelter of the buildings towards the end. Just failed to scrape under 23 minutes. Son of a Pronator Man Truly grim weather with sleety rain and a driving wind. It made my head ache. 40 Seconds slower than last year. I'll put that down to the 6.30 am bedtime and the vat of Stella I drank at Hogmanay.

Great start to the year - here's looking forward to many races to come Edinburgh Athletic Club 24:58 27:18 27:18 66.15
SueW I'd like to go sub 32 for this. I ran it once before in 2004 and ran 33:58. We'll see......

I am well chuffed with that. Considerably faster than last time on a truly horrible day. Carnegie Harriers 30:48 31:18 32:00 31:18 64.35
