About me... well I am a geordie lass (or geordiegirl) I first joined fetch when I struggled with ill-health and I know it was the Fetch community that kept me going. Can’t quite believe I’ve been here 16yrs! I have finally joined the ranks of trying to become an ultra runner!!! In June 2021 I did a 100k - Race to the Castle with my ultra bud NellieJane, in June 2022 I conquered The Wall OMG it was another level the road was tough but the end I felt so amazing. Signed up to do Jordan Ultra Challenge in 2024 with Nelliejane and I’m so excited about this one. Describe your ideal run, ride or swim. Run would undoubtedly be across the fells and woodland I am lucky enough to live close to. Nothing to think about but the ground in front of my feet. Of course running with someone is also great, esp when I run with my mum or friends. |

throat almost pain free, not feeling quite so tired and I thought lets try.... coach had a test run in for yesterday (if I felt up for it)
How it went... chest - could definitely feel the exertion but not by a lot. I walked the inclines and one other point when I needed to cough. Thought I’d try 3-4m loop today coach Karen happy with my approach.
Started out slow as I bumped into neighbour first time I’ve seen him to speak too since his heart attack. So first 1/2m was a walk. Back at the strength training today was shoulder supersets. I should have had heavier weights for the staple but my garage looks like the inside of the boat as the canopy is airing/drying from waterproofing so I picked up a set of 3kg dumbbells and just slowed down the Arnold press for more effect.

Run with mam from hotel to Melonas back along the beach and a little run up and over a sand dune. Gaiters performed on point not a grain of sand in my trainers! Mam was struggling with the heat as it warmed up but once at the beach the breeze kicked in and she was in her stride.
