The 6000 steps with Lillie. Fantastic day out, really warm and sunny and enjoyed this quality time with her. She totally smashed it and didn't seem phased by it at all.

Felt a lot better so went along to Monday Runday. Wasn't sure I was up to the fartleks so went with the quicker of the other groups - Helen's hills. Much better. Also testing the road shoes with orthotics in ready for Sunday.

All a bit too much of an adventure. Engine oil warning on the car on the way down the hill. Panicked to drive it so ran to the petrol station and then had to finish run with 2 litres of engine oil in my rucksack. Then loads of time wasted figuring out how to open the bonnet and the oil carton - all in the rain. On the plus side, felt ok running.

LIVERSEDGE HALF MARATHON. Absolutely exhausted after the Ten Res's event the day before, so what better way to recover than to do a hilly half marathon? Actually it was a fantastic break for my brain, but not so much for my body and I've been in a borderline breakdown ever since! Race went well enough (as long as I don't compare to my younger self). Got round without blowing up terribly and ran a sensible race. I thought it would be a huge PW but actually see I ran it slower a couple of years ago. Foot pretty hurty by the end. Find it impossible to imagine I can run twice as far, but I always do manage to........................

TRIMPELL 20. Very disappointed with this at the time. Started to suffer well before halfway and the last five miles was an awful grind. Really felt that I didn't know how I could possibly run another 6 miles for the marathon. To think I would have been able to run this in 3 hours in my heyday. Foot very hurty too, though seem to be able to blank it out. Suspect the main reason I was so pants was because I was still tired from the half the week before.
