About Me

Started running in 2009 as a way to lose some weight for. Was hopeless, but after building up to 5k at my local Race for Life I was hooked. Moved up to 10k in 2010 and then to Half Marathons in 2011. I'm never going to be at the front, but I figure that I'm just doing my own thing and I get there eventually. I've now even managed to complete my first ever marathon.

Have discovered that I love running trails. Sometimes too many hills for my liking but I'm getting used to them. Nothing like getting covered in mud! Takes me back to being a kid again :-)

I blogged about training for my first marathon here: Link (roll over me to see where I go)

2014 has been the best year yet in terms of achievement. Whilst marathon training I managed to take 1 minute off my 5k PB and 2 minutes off my 10k PB. I know that I can improve further and I'm looking forward to seeing some more PBs tumble.

What I most love is encouraging others. I'm a jogscotland leader and an athletics coaching assistant. I am the proof that you CAN do it if you put your mind to it :-)
