Jan 8th 2009 - I am trying to make a return to some form of competitive running after many years out through injury (and letting myself go). I wasn't too bad a runner some years back mainly with Sandwell Valley and then Birchfield Harriers. I made an attempt last year to get fit for the Birmingham Half Marathon, which by and large I achieved until I picked up an achilles injury 3 weeks before the race which kept me out for almost 3 months. So now with renewed enthusiasm and a recent purchase of a treadmill here I go again.
