Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.
The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Berlin Sportscheck Run 10 km
Surprisingly fast run today. I was down for the sub 55 pacing job but when I unfurled my flag, it said sub 50. Apparently, there were only 2 pacers today, the 55 min guy and I, no 45 and no 60 min flags around. Because I had already paced the sub 25 group in the 5k in Leipzig last month they apparently decided to give me the faster group to run. Ok, change of plan, I'll have to do a tempo run instead of a moderate session. I was a bit nervous at the start and my left middle toe was about to cramp when we lined up in the start pen. I skipped most of the warm up gymnastics that were offered and focused on relaxing the foot muscles.
When the gun went, I found that I had placed myself way in the back and I needed to weave quite a bit for the first 400 m until we were out on the runway. There I could settle into goal pace and get comfortable. The first km was a tad fast because I panicked a bit but then I worked like a metronome, all splits between 4:56 and 5:00. I had a 25-30 seconds cushion at km 9 in case the course was a bit long. I needed that, finished in 49:55 in the official results, perfect job. Several runners high fived me after the finish and one runner requested a selfie with me when I just had my cheeks stuffed with banana. I hope I didn't resemble a hamster 🐹 😂. Very happy with the run, working with power and lap pace worked really well. The effort felt a tad harder than marathon pace so I'm getting back to the fitness I had in spring.

Well done
Great pacing.
Nice and consistent well run
Thank you. It was not what I had planned but it worked out nonetheless. Sub 50 instead of sub 55
Not a good surprise but excellent pacing and obviously fully within your capabilities.
Spot on pacing
Nice ! 5min better than expected is something:)
as you said: perfect job!
