I have taken out the warm up and the ride back and just left the 120km on the main cycle route which is similar to Melbourne.
I am really pleased with the ride and hopefully this sets me up nicely for the big one:-)
If I went at this pace on the day it would get me to 5:25, which I think is reasonable given the training week, the cars to avoid and no race wheels... hopefully I will go well on the day:-)

Great riding Joe! Looks like a mammoth day of exercise! I'm sure you will go seriously fast in Melbourne. I just had a read about the course and it sounds seriously fast. They are saying it's one of the quickest bike courses in the world, so looking forward to seeing your splits!
33 kph in training over 120km! I can just picture you in race mode tearing up the miles!
Cheers guys - I have read a lot about the bike course as well Luke, I don't want to get overexcited, but it sounds like a very fast course. I don't want to leave myself with nothing for the run though! Looking forward to 19 days time and finding out what all the fuss about the Melbourne bike course is:-)
