Total time - 57:16, PB by 4 minutes!
Also, I came 17th out of 74... At a tri club!!!
Balmoral short course tri - it was good fun, although it is such hard work when you try and go quick!
The swim was a dreadful start. I got kicked in the head and I am no good with the wetsuit and my breathing was short and it was just horrible. I managed to get out in 8:19 which is slower than last time and it was just awful. I need to sort this for next week and for Melbourne...
Also, I apparently did 520m not 400m...
0.52km - 8:19(16:00/km)
Transition 1 - this is hard work because it is straight up the stairs from the beach and it is quite long.
0.4km - 4:23
The cycle - there are a lot of speed bumps which make the ride harder, plus it is 5 laps - 1.5km each way and so it is pretty hard to get any kind of rhythm going. Anyway, it was reasonably quick!
26:42 - speed of 33.71kph. Not bad given the bad course.

Yeah so the swim was bad, but overall very pleased with the time!
Sorry, I posted on the wrong one here! Great effort Joe. Your triathlons are so impressive. 3.56km at the end of everything! Congratulations on a great race.
Cheers Luke. I am getting better at these triathlons now... I am really pleased I managed to get 17th - not long ago I was 47th and over 7 minutes slower!!!
Great triathlon Joe. Swim sounds like a fight. Just stay relaxed I think is the best advice. Don't get too hung up on time as you said it measured way long. Just need to get through the swim with minimum energy and stress and then hammer the bike and bring it home with the run. You look in great shape off the back of this.
Cheers Si. It is true, I just need to get through the swim and I should relax more and start slowly. I will get there with some more practice. The wetsuit is hard because it makes breathing harder and not sure if mine is too tight or I am just not used to it.
