Heart Rate during the Leeds 10K. My Max HR is 179bpm ... can you guess where the wheels came off?

    DrBob: no that is intesting. Did the spike in heart rate coincide with feeling suddenly crap by any chance?

    iPLOD: And only 3 minutes off a PB. Gosh. Is that a regular thing? You look pretty good/calm in the pic on the homes straight!

    DrDan: The monitor aint broken ... it's real. I feel a flutter as it kicks in and then I feel relatively normal although I run out of steam and my pace drops by 90-120s per mile (as the heart is inefficient in this state and can't get enough blood to the muscles). It's happened 4 times in training and 3 times in races ... I've been referred to the cardiologists at the hospital and have an appointment in a few weeks.
