Any excuse to dig this photo out. Me (with very tiny baby in my tummy!) and Katie B with celebrity runner, and Eddie Izzard...

Thanks, it's good to hear what others have done.

I should probably mention when I say I do long runs, I'm an ultra runner. It's that I wasn't sure was a good idea, but it seems to be the consensus then it's ok until I know I'm pg. It won't affect getting pregnant?

TooOldtotri?
TTC - I'm trying not to put my life on hold in relation to exercise. It would be very easy to just go 'no not doing anything now just in case' but getting pregnant is such a chance thing it may or may not happen and then I would have just become a coach potato for nothing :)

A TTC fetchie here. It's a tough ride sometimes isn't it. After a year of trying and being surrounded by others announcing their pregnancies during that time has been tough. Now that I am in this situation I wish it was talked about more. Last night, I was sent another 'woo we are pregnant' message and of course I am happy for them but spent the night crying into the pillow.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to write this, but I wondered if anyone else can relate to how I am feeling right now and give any advice etc.

I can certainly relate. I can't see things through your eyes, and I can't begin to understand how you feel. Some of us get a tough deal, others seem to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat. Enjoy the time you have with your significant other, please don't try to make everything all about conceiving a child - try to enjoy trying to conceive, it's meant to be a fun activity, after all. And enjoy spending time just the two of you - do stuff you just won't be able to do *when* baby comes along.

We spent a total of sixteen years trying to have out two lovely children. It was difficult at times, but I'm so happy that everything has worked out. It was difficult being passed between specialists, and being told what we were told, but we had an excellent time empty-nesting while we were still young enough and earning enough to enjoy it. That kept us strong, and might just have been what we needed to relax and let nature take its course. My son was conceived in France, after all.

Ahhh Bayleaf, I feel for you! This time last year we'd been trying for two years and I was ready to give up...I've just put my three month old boy to bed, so don't give up hoping just yet.

Yup, it's hard. We TTC for 11 months, got pregnant, miscarriage at 12 weeks then another 6 months before falling pregnant with my now 2yo. When my best friend announced her second pregnancy after my miscarriage I cried for 2 days.

A little more sanguine this time around but each month of wondering will it / won't it be soon feels very long....

Good luck!

We were over a year conceiving our eldest. Nearly two in fact. It was a tough time.

We have two kids now. And a good relationship, thank goodness.

It's ok to feel how you do. I guess you need to find your way to have those normal feelings but not let them destroy you or your relationship.

I found it hard each month when it didn't happen as I was so used to being in control of achieving my goals in my career and running etc that I felt like I'd failed when I couldn't make it happen. Also you spend all that time trying not to get pregnant and then when you want to be...
