My fetch top looks like that now and I've still got 4 months to go!

I ran in the maternity shorts I bought last night. They're definitely more comfortable, there's no waist band to dig in. They didn't feel that supportive yet but I've got time to 'grow into them'

I'm 24 weeks today. This second trimester seems to have gone quite fast, I hope the last one does too :-)

I have terrible sugar cravings so my arse is expanding at a similar rate to my stomach.

It's a good job I don't have many other symptoms and can still train enough to burn some of it off!

mummyV - you ran all the way to your due dates?! That's amazing! :-) I would love to be able to do that.

katypie - my Fetch top is also too short so I think by now my belly would be showing already!

24 weeks Battlecat, you're speeding through! Can you do a link to the maternity shorts please? Would you say they were worth the money?

Glad you're feeling better lambkin, you've had a bit of a rough ride so far so I'm glad you're on the up :-)

I was 14 weeks on Wednesday, officially in the second trimester now! I am definitely feeling like I have more energy, even though I'm still really tired at night if that makes sense? I went back to my old spin class on Wednesday night. Anyone else done spinning while pregnant? It's definitely NOT an easy class so I was a bit apprehensive about whether I should be doing it, but just took it easy and didn't work too hard (which felt weird!). I'm eating like I'm marathon training so I'm really keen to get all the exercise I can so I don't end up the size of a house!

Not sure if they're worth the money or not. I figured I'll probably wear them for a bit after the birth and possibly again another time...? maybe! They are definitely more comfy but a pair of normal shorts a size up would be too. They down ride down below the bump so I'm not spending time pulling them up all the time, I don't like getting a cold draft round there.

I haven't tried spinning, but then I wasn't a big spinner before either. I'm still cycling outdoors though. I like that you can work your legs without having to jiggle about. I've read of spin instructors taking classes right up until they were due though

Thank you! Have you tried them with the band pulled right the way up? Does it feel like it's helping "hold" your bump? I've found a pair of tights on Sports Direct for £9.50 so think this is the way to go for me at the moment, I don't have much of a bump yet but need to go up a couple of sizes I think.

I did think that - what do instructors do when they're pregnant?! They must just carry on so it can't be that bad! I don't think I would even have thought twice about it if someone hadn't gone "Oooh, are you allowed to go spinning?!" which then made me doubt myself! It's weird how many people have an opinion on running/exercise when pregnant, most probably an opinion plucked out of thin air rather than any kind of research/evidence.

Someone at work said "Oh you're probably not running anymore then?" and when I said I still was, but just not as much/fast etc. they said "It can't be good for the baby, all that impact. You should be going swimming instead." I said I didn't really like swimming and they said "Well it's not about you anymore!" :-o

Ladies, comments like that are ignorance. Unless you have specific medical reasons not to exercise or you don't want to / it doesn't feel right, then carry on. The guidelines are not to do anything new - as you have done spin before then it's fine. Just be careful not to raise your heart rate as much - like runine, just reduce your intensity as you said you did.

Gah sorry that posted early hadn't finished. I'll carry on...

Like running, reduce your intensity as you said you did. Drink plenty of water. You will know when it feels good or bad, right or wrong. Staying fit and strong in pregnancy will help you have a better birth and also to regain you fitness and shape / figure afterwards.

Keep at it you're doing fab xxx
