Good for the running. I feel better after a run as well. I think it helps me sleep too.

I had a little bit of period pain type things at around 5/6 weeks as well. I just assumed that's what they were though! I sort of didn't quite believe I was pregnant until the scan. I was quite surprised to see something on the screen really. It made it easier to not tell anybody before the scan. It didn't feel like I was lying to people.

I've had the midwife today for blood results. Everything's fine, I don't have STDs, I'm not anaemic and am immune to Rubella. Hurray :-) Blood pressure is on the low side of normal, which is amazing after the weekend I've had!

Thanks for the nappy recommendations. I'll have a look at what there is at the nearly new sale in a fortnight.

Oh MummyV :( Sorry you're feeling sad. I can't imagine that yet, must be a very weird feeling. How did it happen?did he stop on his own? You've done amazingly feeding for so long, Well Done. He couldn't ask for a better start. Lots of lovely mummy cuddles and skin to skin, baths etc will help to keep your bond strong and special.
Cleo is still feeding once/twice a day, not sure how to approach finishing. I feel mentally but not sure how it will affectme emotionally as I've been breastfeeding one or other of mine since July 2009 :-0. Sounds a long time when I write it down!!

To be honest, he has been feeding a lot all the way until now and I really loved it but I'm also aware that he is a lot more independent and less whiney when I'm not around...he just was addicted to the boobs and would find many reasons to have them during the day. I have been sleeping on the sofa bed (away from him and husband) for 8 months now (no boobs=better sleep for all) so have been saying we should stop feeding and then return to normal sleeping arrangements for quite a while. And then I was away the last weekend, for 4 days and it made sense to use that time to stop as he was perfectly fine without me and with a bottle of regular milk every time I had been away or just running previously. Boobs are still hard and I do feel sad but I won't get another chance to stop this (more natural) way for a long time...so this is it xx

Gosh - amazing feeding ladies.

I can imagine being sad at the end though - I guess it's the end of an era :(

Are you having to express MummyV? I think part of my reluctance is all the mastitis I had at the beginning and worrying that any engorgement will put me back there. Do Not want any more antibiotics then the thrush and pain and fally off nipples and Argh

I'm refusing to touch the boobs, totally cold turkey although I do have lumpy and blocked bits I know it will pass in a couple of days...trying to be brave :-) just done my first bed time with him with cows milk by myself...he was less pleased than usual but had his milk, had cuddles, then fell asleep while holding my hand so all good for now :-)
