Thanks everyone :)

For the first couple of months after coming off the pill I kept feeling dizzy and just generally a bit odd. I feel fine now but my periods are still only lasting 2 or 3 days so I don't think I'm entirely back to normal

I spent ages reading the forums on that Toni weschler website last night. I really hope it doesn't take us too long once we start trying. My OH became an uncle for the first time on Monday and his broodiness is really off the scale!

Personally, just my opinion / experience, fertility monitors aren't necessary. You can tell if you are ovulating by taking your temperature each morning and keeping an eye on cervical mucus. I used an app / website called fertility friend to track those things. Just bought a normal thermometer that you put in your mouth. I do understand that some people prefer more certainty but that can be expensive.

Agree with VicksterH - in fact, just temp shift was enough for me...

I think I'll keep it pretty simple but would consider something like a fertility monitor if we're getting nowhere after about 6 months.

Best way to get pregnant? Have lots of nookie! Be careful with turning it into a 'project' as some of the fun goes out of the experience and you get a feeling of obligation / duty and if you aren't successful any particular month then it's easy to blame yourself/ OH/ the dog for somehow impeding that critical moment! Speaking from personal experience... Good luck!

temperature shift tells you if you have ovulated but the mucus thing tells you if you are leading up to it and hence most fertile. Apparently I've read the best approach is to do the deed every other day, but if you can't or don't want to, then the three days before ovulation are the best time...

My rough plan is to aim for at least every other day for 2 weeks from the end of my period and hope that covers it, then he might get a little break. I don't envisage any complaints :)

It would be worth taking your temp Oysterboy as I used to have 4 week cycles but didn't ovulate until day 21...
