It does sound like carpal tunnel. It's been going on now for a good few days. But I always wake up with pain in my wrist and not being able to make a fist. May call the doctors to see what they say. |

OS I also had that but put it down to the fact that I had changed the position in which I slept and had pain going down my left arm which always took a while to ease up. So I managed to survive my first week of the OH going back to work....just!! I got a call from him at work last tuesday to say that his boss had asked him to go offshore for a week from the next day so I had only just got my head around being by myself during the day and looking forward to him coming home at night, but this was a whole different thing. Had a slight meltdown on Friday as I was absolutely shattered but thankfully had family and friends rally round to keep me company and even my folks took him out for a long walk on Saturday so that I could catch up on sleep. So thankfully he got home on Monday (earlier than expected) and we are getting back into the routine of him taking the 11pm/midnight feeding and I do the early morning feeds. |

Hello peeps. I have been given admin rights on the thread for a while so please tell my sleep deprived brain what needs changing in the header. Is Mrs Lammo next?

That seems like a long time lammo! Seems like we had a lot of births in the past 6 weeks or so...

Right. Have booked personal training session now I've had my 6 wk check. Well, when I say check, he just asked me if I was ok and took my blood pressure! I had 3rd degree tear and was told that the deep stitches take 3 mths to dissolve. But I should be ok trying some run/walk stuff d'you think? I dunno if being massively overweight makes any difference (apart from being a bloody good reason to start sooner rather than later!) My PT is excellent but he's not been through childbirth himself so just wondered if people with similar damage had experience / knowledge to share. |

I think one of the main things aside from listening to your body is to make sure someone checks your abdominal separation before you do any core stuff. I posted about this in the getting fit after preggers thread recently. More than 2 finger widths and I think you are supposed to avoid crunches, planks etc. The other thing I was advised of is that Relaxin levels are still pretty high for about 5 months after birth, so more prone to injury, so avoid very deep lunges, stretches etc.

Done Doogs I'm not sure anyone could find my abdominal muscles... I'm very fat. The relaxin hormone was my worry as I also understand they're higher if you BF? |
