House swop holiday - great idea. I had Hann's chapel once.

(apologies for bringing back DIY) Eddie, the reason you put a dilute pva coat onto a bare wall before plastering is to create a barrier. Otherwise the moisture from the plaster gets sucked into the wall and it dries out too quickly and you can't work it . (I did a plastering course once, although I was supremely crap at it).

But I have got a big new feck-off drill, so I'm good at drilling holes. So let me know if you need a hole drilling.

Hi zp! Is Match very expensive, or is your account very small?

Hann's chapel sounds lovely. There's a little converted chapel in a otherwise terraced road in Easton and I want it! (It's not for sale.)

The amount of water that comes out of drying plaster is astonishing. The PVA coat makes sense. I now have paint for my bedroom. I can't wait to get going now.

I inherited my Grandad's drill. There's something quite empowering about wielding a drill.

Thanks for Match advice. I begrudingly swallowed the charge and shall try and get some dates out of it. I have mails, which is a promising start :)

Ah zp I was about to tell you to wait a bit because Match will send you all sorts of discount offers. Likewise make sure you cancel the repayment, let it lapse, and wait for offers.

Haven't paid yet but on the verge of doing so. Last time I was on you could see who'd winked/viewed etc, and read messages, but not reply until you'd paid.

Doh! Thanks Meglet.

They preyed on my impatience and fragile ego to extort money from me in exchange for some sort validation. I feel dirty.

But am at least back in the quagmire of online dating. Nothing ventured, right?

Match pissed me off royally as more and more things seemed to require payment. I don't think I'd ever use a site again - personal preference. I found the whole thing very uncomfortable. I'll stay single unless the right person happens into my life :)

Match is much more annoying than a few years ago. There's an awful lot of 'click me click me', only to be confronted with 'tempted? Give us some money then'. Never go beyond the basic subs, it's really not worth it.

You also have to be active-the more active you are (viewing, favouriting etc) the more views you'll get of your own profile. And they are clever at increasing your view/messages etc at critical times-like when your subs run out.

I'm going to do a month and then see how I feel. I've already earmarked a few possibles.
