Hi SCP I've always been in Bristol but on the outskirts at the mo'. In most cities I imagine that wouldn't be a problem but Bristol's transport is rubbish coming in from the north side and a couple of major bus routes have just been cancelled, both affecting students trying to move between campuses (as well as general public who work at the uni or in the same area).

good to see everyone is well - your puppy is adorable HP

RS am pleased you are fine after your break up - being around people who have rages is not the best company and sounds like you made the best decision

and i see no talk of the island!!

SCP - My work colleague goes to the Bag O'Cats for their pub quiz.

I'm a bit meh with cats unless they're friendly. If it was a dog pub; you couldn't keep me out.

My puppy is adorable....when he's asleep :-o He is lovely actually but pushing the boundaries like a toddler at the moment. Lots of bitey stuff at the moment too.

I can't quite understand the desire to go to a cafe or pub full of cats tbh but each to their own.

Are puppies like babies then HP?

Some friends of mine went to the Bag O'Nails a while ago, on way to football. Said it smelt a bit.....of cats.

Plenty of dog friendly pubs in Brighton. Some even have a jar of dog biscuits on the bar, as I found out when I thought they were something else....;)

Yeah - there are quite a few in Bristol now and I've snuck well-behaved hounds into various shops with me. They love Pickle the cockapoo in my local Co-op bank and now when we walk past, she pulls on the lead hoping to go in.

Right.. He's been gone a month and although I am officially still a married woman I suspect it's about time I accepted that I am now on my own.

I have been blogging about the absolute mess of the situation and I'm totally raw over the whole situation but I have spent 16 years NOT being on my own and now there's nobody there. How on earth do you start to rebuild, where does anyone go or what do they do to meet new people when the last thing you want to do is meet new people..

I installed Tinder.. Basically its a beauty contest. There is no depth, no value and it's totally cold. It got swiftly uninstalled.

I don't want to be judged on my looks

I would not rush in to anything too quickly...

Some years ago I ended up being dumped by someone I'd been with a good while (allegedly no one else involved although he was always a good liar). I was on my own for a few months, still reeling a bit from everything and went out with the first person who showed me any attention. I realised deep down it was not right, but I stuck with it thinking it would be ok and that was it - I wouldn't find anyone else. (Some of this was on a conscious level, some not)

After I manned up and called it quits I just got out and did stuff with friends for fun as that is all I wanted; admittedly this all revolved around running but I surprised myself - I used to come home feeling so happy and marvel at some of the great times I'd had with my pals. Of course I had moments where I felt a bit down about not having someone to share stuff with. It sounds like a cliché but I had some of my best times in that period of singledom.

I'd recommend getting out and doing hobbies and things you enjoy, and making new friends. I heart this thread although it's a bit quiet recently!
