ION finished stage 1 of the client's garden. Now I need to work hard on mine... And write a business plan for my herb business...

Meglet - 15 year old girl and 12 year old boy. They are lovely.

I had a bit of possible tick angst today. I got bitten by something while out running and brushed a black tiny thing off my arm, which might just've been a bit of tree bark or something. It's quite itchy, so I suspect not a tick and maybe mosquito. Ticks are rife around here and some of my dogs keep getting them.

After 12 months I've only met P's children twice, I think, and not really spent any time with them. He's met mine and been for dinner a couple of times. But that was our decision to keep us and family separate, plus we can see each other when we don't have them as our child-free weekends coincide.
Good that you get on with them :-)

I guess you don't need another father for your children Meg, nor P need a mother for his?

Not having my own children I do wonder what it would be like to date someone who has. I guess I tend to go for women with no children. Though perhaps I'm limiting myself there?

Indeed SCP. We both felt they had enough to deal with as both our ex partners have thrust their new boyfriend/girlfriend straight into family life, XH's GF moved in about a year after our split. It works well having a partner with similar age children as we understand what's happening and agreed very early that 'children come first', our outlooks are very similar too.

I didn't really want to date someone without children (in fact date 1 was childless and got v cold feet very quickly over me having kids). Partly so we had similar life experiences and understood other commitments, and also as I really don't want any more.

I don't think you are necessarily limiting yourself, any more than saying you'd like certain personality traits or interests. Ultimately if you had a long term relationship with someone with children you would take some responsibility for them and that's not for everyone. (It also depends on the kids, P's are pretty similar to mine, I couldn't do tearaways!)

I think someone with kids who sees them as a priority would be helpful for me. Right now I can't even really consider dating. QP is not old enough to be left home alone yet and I don't have babysitting options really. I have reached a point where I am unsure whether I want more kids as well which complicates things.

I have had bf's with children and both of those relationships failed because of the children... Not that I didn't get on with them or would not accommodate them, quite the contrary. It was the complications caused by ex partners and their new partners that made it virtually impossible for my father boyfriends to establish a new relationship. I shan't be revealing what I thought about those exes... but selfish b*tches does describe them quite well...

So I can see why Meglet and her bf do what they do :)

Lettie, no, I don't have a website yet... I am in the business plan stages. I want to have a little bit more certainty before I do a website and business cards... Allthough I keep being asked for cards, maybe I should do a general one, so contacts made don't go lost...

Plan is to create a blogger based website and start it as a blog to track progress on planting beds creation, building going up etc etc to generate an interest and also to talk about plants and their uses. This should be kept separate from a selling site, where you then refer to the blog for more info ;) ;) ;)

In the meantime I am experimenting with a tincture I made, on myself, and it is doing quite well. Promising! It is good to use different herbs from others I believe... and the stuff grows wild all around me!
