HowFar?
I think I do, HB. It might be a bit quiet for some people, or short of a decent public transport system, but I don't think I'd swap it for anywhere.

Looks fantastic HF. Quite flat then, with lots of lakes?

Yes HF does look lovely. Water, greenery and history, a great combination.

Last day at work today for about 10 days. Off on the camping and canoeing weekend tomorrow. Planning to make my way to the Pembroke Coast on Monday .Well I'll have my tent and wood burner, so the world is my oyster really :)

I have booked the third workshop of this summer: making traditional Welsh potatoe baskets... They are ideal as a container for drying herbs, so am going to learn to make my own, so I can make the quantity I need for drying, rather than having to buy then at £120 a pop :) The workshop is £50 and theoretically, we make a whole basket that day!

Sounds interesting Hann. It has been a great day. See grateful thread for details. Currently in the garden listening to birds singing, bees buzzing and the BBQ sizzling :)

I had a basket weaving day with a man a couple of years ago. He had done some work at school, making a willow tunnel and hut. I went with dad and we had a great day with Tom and his wife, who made us all lunch. I made a huge basket for keeping fire logs, while dad made a little fruit basket.

Here's Tom. His bit starts after about 1 minute.

How funny, I've just been looking on FB and my friend's daughter has been to basket-weaving classes and created her first masterpiece.

BF had a birthday party this weekend - t'was a humdinger and I've been chilling at his with my pals who introduced us. Back home to tidy up and collect some veg for later so we can cook a roast together.
