HowFar?
The midgies hang round here well into October, if it's not freezing cold and blowing a hoolie.

Ohhhh, a plan is hatching :) I have alos bought an insect repellent bodywash/shampoo. If you wash yourself and your hair with it, as well as using their insect repellent, you have a stronger effect apparently and as they tend to go for my hairline/hair, I am hoping it will work.

Neal's Yard ciitronella is what I took to India. No nibbling.

Midges are very different from what you get in India... I don't get nibbled at all in India, I get eaten alive by midges!

I know - my family live all over Scotland and I regularly get midgie reports when about to travel up there. They don't seem to like citronella either.

10.30 on a Friday evening and I am off to bed... yawn! I did work and build a log store out of pallets and a corrugated roofing sheet though, so I think tiredness is justified...

I was off to bed about the same time Hann. More kayaking last night. I am enjoying it and we are meeting new people :)

And up early again :)

Nice to meet new people in a new area!

I am about to slap a coat of fence & shed preservative onto the log store, so it looks a little less like 5 pallets and a roofing sheet :)

Woohoo! Just heard I have the gardening job :) :) :)

It will be a lot of hours, as they want me to do a planting plan, source plants etc and design and plants things up. The hard landscaping is all in place and all the really heavy work, like lifting turf and digging out shrubs will be done by a local bloke.

I am very exctited as I had all sorts of ideas after walking around the garden. Once all has been done and planted up, I will stay on for a fixed amount of hours a week to look after it too. They are away abroad a lot, so need someone to help them keep on top of things.

Great news Hann! What a lovely job.

Singles night went well. V relaxed. Great to meet HB. I've just been for a swim in the lake. Bloody cold but lovely.
