I did sea kayaking in Turkey, was amazing looking down at the sunken city near Kas.

Plus it felt so much better and intimate than being on one of tourist boats.

There's a sea kayaking weekend I've seen down in South Wales in June, looks interesting

I did a day sea kayaking in Oz. The dolphins came and swam either side of us. They never went near the tourist boats.

Well, make sure you keep your tent flaps open...

I'm sure one of my FB/ultra pals did a kayaking tour of the western Islands last year. It looked fabulous, if a bit exhausting. He also did a full day kayak tour of Venice; I was ridiculously jealous.

Wouldn't you be forever dodging other traffic - it sounds like it might be a bit hectic, if very interesting. I'd prefer some isolation though I think.

He said the bits on the Grand Canal were a bit hair-raising, but most other canals are very quiet and the views totally inaccessible other than from the water.

I'm going to be doing a bit of sea kayaking in Barbados, as we can do it for free at our hotel. Never done it before and looking forward to it.

I did sea kayaking in Croatia, did I mention that? It was good, but pretty hard work for an upper body weakling like me! And quite scary when the waves got up, I was scared of capsizing as I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to get back in.

Our kayaks had foot pedals and a rudder, which was a bit strange at first, but once used to them was great for steering.

I did some rather inelegant clambering back in at Friday pool session. It wasn't easy but it was manageable. I think between climbing and kayaking I might finally achieve the elusive upper body strength.
