Evening! I had a fruitful business setup advice meeting this morning :)

Went to Aldi on my way home, got food etc in for when AM is here to look after me after my op.

They satisfactorily had some things on their weekly offer that I needed, result!

Got home and used the oven cleaner and limescale remover to great satisfaction.

Did the dishes, tidied, cleaned cats litter tray, did the ashes, took composting out, used the new duster to great satisfaction, wiped surfaces, deep cleaned bathroom including mold and limescale, cleaned kitchen, changed bedding, did laundry, put laundry away. Now slumped on sofa watching the washing machine go round wondering what to cook. I don't feel like a domestic goddess... Been tackling lots of outstanding cleaning though. Never a priority in the last couple of years while ill with Lyme.

We're coming over to yours HF, for a lough kayaking holiday. I just need to air my tent first.

I just had congee, Hann; one of my easy staples. How about that?

I never know if what you're eating is a typo or just fancy, RS. I have congealed stuff for tea sometimes.

There is a 50km kayak trail on the lough that must go fairly close to my back door. If we get the wind that's forecast for the next few days, your tent would be aired out in next to no time. Retrieving it from 20 miles up the road may the problem though.

It doesn't look easy - I'll take your word for it though. I had unidentified soup and potato at work, with sponge and custard for pudding, so all's well.

I am making pasta. I have never made a congee...

My tent doesn't need airing but I would love a canoe trip. I can see a singlies canoe reunion/social/meet at HF's coming up :)

It's really easy.

Take some rice (I like Thai jasmine), add plenty of water or stock and bring to boil until it's a slightly gloopy porridge. While cooking I add shreds of leek and fresh ginger. Towards the end I add some peas. When done I sprinkle in some chopped green bits of spring onion and finish with toasted sesame oil, soya sauce and chopped, boiled egg.

You can add in cubes of tofu, meat or fish while it's cooking and veg like cabbage and carrot.

I am undecided HF. I fancy sea kayaking as there is some beautiful coast around the north of Scotland. QP fancies river though. I'm hoping to try a bit of everything using club boats and then decide.

I've never done sea kayaking - although I would like a go at it. It's good that the club have all the boats so you can have a try at different styles.
