RS - means they've got loads of dosh just don't want to part with it. I wanted to put up one of those notices at the old family home as we were on an estate. You'd regularly see Anglian Windows park up at the best of the estate to come and annoy us all. Working from home it was really annoying.
You, however, can put your leaflet through my letterbox anytime ;-)

It's only a matter of time before it dies back a bit I suspect Hann. However, I would happily go and chop it back a bit if I had something suitable. Not sure how I stand given it is forestry commission land???

I can imagine about the traders and I've always wanted to put a sign up saying 'No take-away menus please'. I wouldn't want to put off local providers - I had 2 gardeners flyers recently and would've used them had I not already consulted another local person earlier in the year.

It seems a shame if the houses that requested 'No commercial flyers' had dogs and may need cover some time. Obviously they can look me up if they get stuck I guess.

Oh and about 5 houses had no letterboxes at all!

Can you chat to the local postal delivery person? They would know where dogs are that might be at home alone during the day.

Hide some fliers between the tins of dog food at the supermarket.

HP - if you get hives just riding past the gorse I'm not sure attacking it with sharp instruments would be a good move, unless you had one of those fancy white onesies that police officers wear at crime scenes and wearing one of those while wandering round the countryside wielding sharp weapons might create more problems than it solves.

HF - that's a great idea about the local supermarket. :) I've got some local dog shops taking my notices.

HP might look like she's in a KLF video in a white onesie wandering around the countryside.

Or a Pet Shop Boys one - if she got a fancy enough protective face mask.

Hmmm I never thought about that HF. As much as I would love to recreate the great music videos of our time I'm not convinced anything can protect me from the bloody gorse. I can bypass it but it means starting and finishing on the road which is a pain in the ar*e given that I can head straight into the woods from the house. Perhaps I need to get back to the road bike. This place seems to be some sort of mecca for cyclists - not a day goes by without me passing at least one cyclist and there have been 2 races on the Black Isle since we moved here

I did hear of a local postman who used to offer to walk customers dogs on his round. He was very popular.

Got friendly with a gorgeous border collie at my Serenity weekend in North Wales. 10 people on the weekend, 9 of them women, so I was popular.

Got on with most of it, but some of the new age stuff went over my head. Best bit for me was trying out tai chi

Today ended with me under a blanket with 2 of the women, whilst the others "tone", meaning they sung up and down an octave...:-)

Did you get to pick the ladies under the blanket? Were you supposed to be there, or were you all hiding to avoid "toning"? Did you take a torch with you so you could do some reading while you were there?
