Yeah - there's a good river over this way for kayaking on too HP, but it's an hour's drive which is no good on a week night and no good at weekends either, as I haven't got a car! Would love to live up your way. |

I'm by the Thames here. Been thinking about taking a dip in it having just finished Waterlog by Roger Deakin. Really lovely book I recommend it

Evening all! We had a blast at the open day. We tried a double kayak (not sure what type), QP had a wee coaching session in a river kayak and then we had a paddle in a canadian canoe. QP loved it and the club members were really friendly and welcoming. We might join the club so we can do their pool sessions over the winter. Hopefully they will run family outings in the spring time

Sounds ace HP One of my fell running friends is also a keen kayakker and instructor. She has offered to take me out on the Wye! I am going to take her up on this soon, as I can't ride with my dodgy knee. I reckon I will enjoy it... and so many rivers near here where you can go! |

I think if we can get to know people over the winter through the pool sessions we can team up with other families and do some nice days out. It's a bloody good core work out I reckon. Great way to explore this amazing country.
