I've been diagnosed with thrombophlebitis in the varicose veins I have in one calf (from a cycling injury 25 years ago), with clots from ankle to knee. Although not a DVT the clots are right up to the popliteal valve so it's been treated as if a DVT with rivaroxaban. I've been told no running or cycling for the 12 weeks of treatment, due to risk of uncontrolled bleeding if I get a knock (so bang goes marathon plan - whimper!)
Wondered if anyone had experience of this condition/ drug treatment, and how returning to running went (assuming you did). General advice, sympathy, etc also welcome
