Pikelet
Busy day today. Club Grand Prix parkrun 21:56 (18 secs over PB but all out effort). Home to take son to footie practice, warm down run while I'm waiting. Back home, make lunch, then off to supermarket to buy stuff for meal with friends. Make meal. Have an ace time. Tidy up. Family go to bed. I catch up on fetch. End of Saturday night/Sunday morning!

Doc, I'd suggest hours on feet are required. But it depends on the athletes starting point. With your track record I reckon you could do it now without any training. Some times it's about training the brain, as the body is already capable.

Another aspect is cutoff times. If it was 45 miles in 10 hours compared to 24 hours that increases difficulty.

you can manage that challenge Doc, the stopping off at pubs could be a diversion I didn't go out yesterday Jaber. ran 11 miles this morning, set out without music as I wanted to concentrate on pace. Averaged 9.28 per mile 1) 1m - 9:30(9:30/m) 128cal 6.32/0mph 2) 1m - 9:30(9:30/m) 130cal 6.31/0mph 3) 1m - 9:37(9:37/m) 130cal 6.23/0mph 4) 1m - 9:30(9:30/m) 129cal 6.31/0mph 5) 1m - 9:14(9:14/m) 129cal 6.5/0mph 6) 1m - 9:26(9:26/m) 129cal 6.36/0mph 7) 1m - 9:32(9:32/m) 129cal 6.29/0mph 8) 1m - 9:26(9:26/m) 129cal 6.36/0mph 9) 1m - 9:27(9:27/m) 129cal 6.35/0mph 10) 1m - 9:37(9:37/m) 130cal 6.24/0mph 11) 1m - 9:25(9:25/m) 130cal 6.37/0mph I'm aiming to run Wirral Half Marathon in September, nothing fancy and to quote Doc *I won't be looking for a PB, just a good time* - Bigleggy's turning out as well. I have some work to do, my legs felt it this morning, but fingers crossed the plantar fasciitis is becoming manageable / going. I still won't be going mad. so a modest aim for this year. lamb for lunch |

Hello all. Looks like you're still being amazing. Speshally glad for J that the PF is behaving. Click ticking towards me first A race of the year on June 10th. I'm feeling very nervous already 🙈 which is unlike me. Time for some meditation.... |

I think I'm up to 362 races since July 2006 (first race was St. Ives 10k). I don't get nerves any more.

Nice pacing there, Jono, hope the foot behaves itself. 7 mile league road race this morning, bit of a plod (I'm sure there were more hills on the course this year, despite it being the same route as last year - it all seemed to be uphill all the way round). Ribs still sore, but got it done. Worryingly, our club captain collapsed at the end and was whisked away in an ambulance - it was warm out there, so possible heat exhaustion. He does have form for this, it's happened at least once before to him, so we're hoping all will be well. |
