Girl has issued her dad a challenge - they both read Ulysses, last one to finish pays for a meal out. What she hasn't factored in is that her dad is semi retired and has loads of time, where as she's mid a levels, has loads of other activities and rarely a minute to spare!

I have read LOTR about twenty times. I'll be needing to leave it a few more years before reading them all again.

I like PD James' Adam Dalgleish books, NO. Hope you do too.

I've read them all LD, and about three trillion Ruth Rendell's. :-) Entirely agree with you about LOTR by the way!

I read one of the Adam Dalgleish books last year - Unnatural Causes - and found it very hard going - I just didn't warm to any of the characters really, or care about them. That's not to say I wouldn't try again with PD James books though
