J2R think that is covered by 'someone else's fault', defeat will be based on biased media, lack of PLP support/in fighting. There may, just may be admittance that Jeremy was not an ideal leader, but only to the extent that he did not get policies across. There will never, never be any concession that policies were wrong in themselves. Hence they will fight to get an 'electable Corbyn' into the next leadership contest. |

Corbyn will stay on until he gets the 5% support leadership election motion through conference. That way the small number of hard left MPs can ensure one of their own is. nominated each time for the far left entryists to vote for. Then enter McDonnell who has the type of personality suited to commanding a death squad!

Its a tough choice. They all have faults and my X is having to be forced onto a ballot paper, but to be fair Tories look like they can govern a country (albeit not to my liking), Lib Dems look like they could govern a province and Labour look like they can govern a Regional union branch (because that's the upper eschelons of the labour party remind me of - ill-disciplined late 1970's CPSA branch politics - South West). So it might come down to the fact that only one of them look like they can govern the country at the moment.

On the myth of Corbyn, I've just had to correct one of my friends who'd posted the old story about Corbyn being the lowest claiming MP in parliament ref expenses. Ignoring the fact that it was a 7 year old article linked, the fact that Corbyn pointed out in the story that in that particular quarter he was behind with his claims and that all his rent and staff costs would go through on the next claim period. The fact that those who idolise JC are guilty of exactly the same style of mis-representations as Trump supporters (and the man himself) tells a story I'm afraid. |

Yes TMW, exactly. And that person will win, because the voting membership follow a cult based on policies, not as some think based on the personality of Corbyn.

The polls suggesting Tories could win the most seats in Wales are the most interesting by far

I will respectfully disagree with TomahawkMike though, I'm not sure that the Tories appear to look any better at governing a country than the others. What do we have at the moment? A party imposing their will on Brexit proceedings, they have led both leave and remain campaigns, lied constantly throughout (on both sides). Brexit was a vote based on vague promises, poorly defined goals and policies and this general election is exactly the same - no white paper so far, no manifesto, campaigning on wide ranging words which they want voters to take and interpret in they way that suits them best, so that they believe the Tories will act for them. That isn't how any government should behave and even less what we should be thinking a capable government looks like. What do you do when none of the parties offer a suitable option worth voting for? |
