Hi,

Anyone any experience with new Tom Tom HRM and GPS, without chest strap(!).
I have veered away from heart rate stats with running but am probably at a stage where I can see its benefits for training.
When I saw this watch that measures heart rate through the watch directly I got rather excited - new kit etc.

Good write up on DC rainmaker.
Wondered what experience real people have had and whether it will load up to Fetch?

Cheers,

James

Yes it does. You have to tell the PC app to save the course as a tcx and then import this into Fetch. No worse than what you have to do with a Garmin really.

It also works nicely with the iPhone app but then it doesn't upload on the PC (you view it on the app and/or the TomTom site).

I had a few issues when it failed to do a firmware upgrade properly but doing it again resolved this. Not happy that I, along with many others apparently, have issues with the upgrade but all is well now.

Overall, I really like it.

I Guess Fetch's issue with intervals is not resolved yet?

I've got the Watch without the HR option

On the whole I am happy with it - The automatic upload to strava and Endmondo is great as these are what I used before so I can still log my runs on an exisiting system. You cant get the Tom Tom app on Samsung phones or tablet at the moment (S3 phone and Tab 2)

However as a watch itself its not as practicle as the Garmins for example - You can only display 3 things at once on the screen and the is no notification per mile or KM - i.e a buzz or vibrate.

Got something to say?
