I have high arches that collapse then I walk/run. I have hypermobility syndrome and this has caused my knees to turn in and painful hips.

I was prescribed orthotics as since I started running I have been getting ankle pain. Anyway they have been amazing. My knees and hips are also improving! !

Carbs aren't bad. Ross Tucker of SportsScientists.com on the carbs debate and the unhealthy religious like zeal that has taken it over:

sportsscientists.com

It seems to be genetically determined how well you can adapt to just burning fat (such as TDF rider Romain Bardet), or whether you suffer on this as many seem to. The studies seem to be swinging against low carb ones for athletes, here's a study for you:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

And yes refined carbs are not good for you, but that doesn't suddenly make Atkins great does it, or carbs causing everything from alzheimers to cancer and autism. There will be a doctor along soon to back me up (I hope).

I'm not wondering if *someone* could make an orthotic out of Hydroxyethyl cellulose (carb) - similar to what's used in wallpaper paste, and gelatine (hyrolysed protein) and compare their benefits :)

Coz someone said that they read a link and then doubted its advice given the author went off on one about carbohydrates being bad, and then someone else said they were bad... (which they are not..try living without them!)

Anyway back to orthotics... as you were.

Got something to say?
