cardiovascular diagnosis needed? (orrible pics sorry)

The Terminator is Premier League
A good friend of mine, my running partner, has lost a huge amount of weight around 13 stone in all and since losing it has had bulbous veins in his inner thigh. Apparently he had previously seen the doctor about them and was told they weren't a problem but was with the physio for an unrelated complaint today and was told to go back to the doctor and has now been referred to a cardiovascular specialist. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be, don't think it causes him any discomfort? Don't know much at all to be honest, he just sent me the photos and asked if I had ever seen anything like it, I'm a business studies lecturer though so have no idea  [IMAGE] More photos to come.... |

Varicose veins. It'll be a vascular surgeon he's seeing. Round here they won't operate unless they are painful or causing ulcers
