I'm doing a short run at lunchtime after back to back fast days (800, so not super-low) - I'm not expecting it to be easy!

Weight this morning was 1.5kg down on last Friday but I'll take tomorrow's weight as my regular weigh-in as there's bound to be a water-loss effect after two fast days.

I did another fast day on Monday, had a good lunch and dinner which came to about 450, but snuck in a Tassimo latte which is about 88 and then late night munchies took over and I gave in and had a bowl of cereal, I'm guessing around 250 cals. So still a low calorie day but not quite on target. No headache this time but that could be because I got my caffeine fix! Next fast day is tomo.

Well done kwala!

Back to back fast days for us again this week, yesterday and Tuesday. I had about 950 on Tues and 830 yesterday but also put in 900 cals worth of exercise - walking, swimming, running and Pilates. I'm never totally sure how to account for exercise. In his original programme Mosley suggested eating 25% of your requirement for the day, so in theory I should eat only 25% of my exercise calories.

Oh and despite it being at the sharp end of two fast days my run yesterday afternoon was absolutely brilliant. No problem at all with energy.

Anyway. Scales this morning suggested another 0.5kg gone but I'll let my official weigh-in day on Friday be the judge.

3lbs down this week so moving in the right direction, I know there is lots of stuff around about fad diets at the moment but I have really found this is the one that suits me best , only really 2 days of "thinking" about it too much , but the knock on effect of not eating too much the days after fasting helps too , just those other 3 days ;-)

I don't know that 5:2 is 'fad' as you don't restrict the food you can eat. Or live entirely on cabbage soup.

Nice loss Gromit, I'm avoiding the scales until Monday morning - hopefully will keep me on track for my next 3 "normal" days - I might get a bit complacent if I see the scale tomorrow straight after fast day!!

You seem to coping really well with your consecutive fast days sally :-)

Yes they've not been too bad. Working around husband's schedule really - it's not the intention to keep doing back to back days.

Don't seem to have lost anything this week on the basis of this morning's weigh-in though!

Kwala , it did feel a little like cheating doing my weigh in day after my 2nd fast day but I was consistent in that was my starting weight day so as long as I keep it to that day I'm happy :-) it also means if I'm having a wobble on the 2nd fast day the weigh in the following morning keeps me on the straight and narrow ........ well kind of ;-)

I gave in and weighed myself this morning - looks like a 4lb loss as of today (that's since last Wed, with 3 fast days) so as long as I'm sensible until Monday I should maintain that :-) I guess it doesn't really make any difference in the long term which day you weigh in relation to fast days as long as you're consistent. I like Monday as WI day as it tends to keep me a bit more focused over the weekend!

So it was a 4lb loss last week after all :-) but then I didn't manage any fast days - I was feeling a little under the weather and somehow this converted into a need to eat stodge which I totally gave in to :-( I just hope I haven't undone the previous weeks good work, WI tomorrow.

But now feeling ready to have another bash at it so tomo and Thursday will be my fast days - chicken bovril and sugar free jelly will be my best friends :-)
