Wanda has two new friends!
I took her down to the playing field and there were a couple there who immediately called their dogs to them to put them on the lead. Wanda lunged forward but I said 'they don't want to chase you' which is what I usually say when she does that rather than anything which may lead the other owners to think she is likely to savage their dogs to death as most people don't need any encouragement to think that of a Staffy-type.

They then said that if she liked chasing they'd be happy to let their two off to chase and be chased - they were small dogs so I warned them that she might treat them a bit like a bowling ball but the owners seemed quite happy by then so we let all three off and they had an absolute whale of a time. I think Wanda was a bit bemused that such funny little snorting things would even dare to try to outrun her but all three charged about none the less.

I don't think I've ever seen such speedy Pugs :-o :-) We're already looking forward to the next time they meet!

That is wonderful Baroness. Gotter love fellow dog owners with that sort of attitude. Raffo had a similar experience with Jess and a .... chiahuahua! It was fantastic. Jess actually chased the tiny creature out of sight and the owner - who had encouraged the game in thew first place - wasn't the least bit perturbed.

Great isn't it!

Some pugs are surprisingly nifty.

No match for Wanda though! :-)

lovely stories :)

Eb has just eaten some tea..... properly without being coerced - which is such a relief as she is skin and bone, I can feel all round her spine and ribs and her legs are all thin, its so awful to feel. But she is eating again - hurrah!

Oh phew, eating properly - or even properly-ISH - is really something.

Better get some mackerel in!

Good news D2 hopefully she's on the mend.

Wanda also has a chiahuahua friend who chases her, the owners of the pugs know that dog and his owner and immediately became much more relaxed about Wanda playing once they knew that the other owner lets her play with him.

The pug owners admitted they did initially have concerns at an approaching Staffy but luckily Wanda was able to reassure them that she is mainly a friendly soul :-) dog

Good news all round there - Eb eating again, and sensible owners (even if they chose pugs ;-)) and a great chasing game for Wanda. Dogs do like a bit of (safe) rumbustiousness. :-)

So dog training.... I went once years ago and hated it but of course this time it would be foolhardy not too. I have had these GSD specialists recommended;

derbyshiredogs.com

I have a one to one lesson booked next Wednesday at the trainers home; she sounds really scary but probably what me and the dog with no name need.

If and when we progress to some kind of agility course the GSD Rotti combo will make for some good jumping height, our last same cross could clear a seven foot wall from a standing start no probs.

Reading your blog D2 took me back to when Leah was little. She was SO energetic and needed lots to look at and think all about. We used to walk her 8-10 miles a day!! Hard to believe now when she can hardly get up the stairs and she goes for slow walks around the block :-( .
